Ph.D. student
Hanan Abdul Kareem is a first international Ph.D. student at the Department Biophysics, SAS, under the supervision of Zuzana Gažová and Zuzana Bednáriková since September 2023. The main goal of her research is to understand the mechanism of amyloid aggregation of globular and IDP intrinsically disordered proteins and identifying the interaction partners to prevent the amyloid disorders. She is skilled in biophysical techniques and molecular biology methods such as PCR, sanger sequencing, flow cytometry, FTIR, CD and software tools such as Machine learning algorithms, Autodock and GROMACS. She has done significant research projects including analysis of SACS gene mutation in ataxia, and developing QSAR models to predict inhibitors for Alzheimer's disease.
