Senior Researcher
Andrea Antošová received her Ph.D in Biochemistry at Safarik University in Košice and IEP SAS in 2011. Her scientific focus is dedicated to the stability of proteins and amyloid aggregation of protein (lysozyme, lactalbumin, insulin), especially concerning the influence of small molecules, nanoparticles, and other factors influencing the formation process of the non-native protein states leading to protein aggregation. She has extensive experience in the field of:
• Visualization of amyloid aggregates by AFM method
• Characterization of amyloid aggregates by spectroscopic methods (thioflavin T fluorescence, ANS, circular dichroism).
Dr. Antošová obtained three months fellowship at University Bayreuth and in CNR in Bologna, Italy. She was also awarded the SAS Award for scientific research in the amyloid aggregation of proteins.
